The Equal Classroom Routledge Lucy Rycro

Out this month The Equal Classroom (Routledge) is a guide for teachers and schools, featuring Let Toys Be Toys and a chapter on gendered clothing written by Let Clothes Be Clothes founder Francesca Mallen.

"Many of the parents I’ve spoken to through the campaign struggle to counter the prevailing gender-policing of their boys, including those who simply want the choice of wearing a dress or a skirt. The idea that boys CAN choose (traditionally deemed) feminine garments (unisex in plenty of non-western cultures) may get Piers Morgan in a flap on twitter, but real choice is not only counter to stereotypes, but promotes comfort too."
