It's here! The Let Clothes Be Clothes Christmas Gift Guide, 2021
Updated: Jan 11
So how’s your Christmas shopping going? Are you serenely on top of everything, are you <gasp> wrapping already ... or are you more like me, short on time, shorter on ideas, and a few stocking fillers away from not even started? 🤦♀️
Luckily for me, I got the fabulous job of writing the Let Clothes Be Clothes Christmas gift guide this year and it’s given me a ton of inspiration!
Did you know Let Clothes Be Clothes awards an Approved Badge to small businesses who’ve taken the step to ditch all gender marketing and simply offer beautiful things for all kids? I’m proud to say my own baby & toddler store Brave Young Things is one of them, and you can see the whole list here. Where better to track down those missing gifts?
I’ve been browsing all these lovely stores (tough gig, I know! 😂) and here are my top picks of gorgeous & original gift ideas for kids of all ages - including grown-ups! - this Christmas.
(PS. Look out for the special codes 🎁 to save a little money too!)
For little babies
Spoil your smallest relations with something super snuggly. Speaking as a mum of 3, you can never have too many babygrows, sleepsuits, muslins or blankets for a little one. And who could resist these gorgeous designs?
🎁 Use code XMASCATS20 for 20% off on Lizziebug's Christmas Cats bodysuit, tee or leggings
🎁 Take 10% off any order at Brave Young Things with code LETCLOTHES
For older babies & toddlers
You’ll be spoilt for choice if you’ve got kiddos in this age range to buy for! Here’s just a few of the super-talented makers offering handmade rompers, leggings or tops in a wide choice of colourful prints. But be quick - last orders for Christmas are around the corner if you want a bespoke item.
If handmade is cutting it fine, then take a look at these two colourful brands. Bee Boo Buzz’s bright organic cotton basics go perfectly with Pikolo’s bold and quirky patterns, and they have even collaborated on some of the collections.
Looking for something a bit different? My own store Brave Young Things specialises in clothes that are stylish and stereotype-free, like this stunning tiger print top. I love that it’s Christmassy colours without going out of date on 26 December! Have a look at JECO Organic Clothing as well, with their lovely prints based on the owner’s own watercolours - we stock some of their gorgeous dungarees and leggings too. Finally, Little Green Radicals have some super-cute outerwear this season.
For kids
I’ve found that as my kids get older, they have stronger ideas about what they will wear. No more just buying what I like (drat). Play to their interests with these ever-popular themes of space, nature and dinosaurs, in unusual and original designs.
